Between April 1 and April 10th, I didn't report anything on Twitter so I am unsure of any activity...I did a recording during the afternoon when no one was home. I left the recorder going in the family room (as pictured above) as I went about my normal business. I didn't capture anything in the pictures (that I am aware of, but this gives you am idea of what it is like in our home and when we record). I never do what the TV shows do. I don't ask questions and I don't look for answers. We do recordings for three reasons and three reasons only. We do a recording when activity has been increasing. My husband usually makes a request for one. We find that they are trying to get attention and have way too much energy so we give them a more constructive way to express it. It helps! A 10-20 minute recording often takes activity level down to a minimum for a few weeks. Sometimes, we don't even get to listen to the recordings, but that's okay! When we do get to listen, we listen because we want to know who is living here with us. Call it a background check - you would do the same if you had a new roommate! Just like a background check - they are not always accurate. If you have been with us from the beginning, you know that just as when they were alive, some people lie. We learned early on NEVER to take anything they say to heart. Granted most may honest, but it is impossible to tell so we are best to listen with that in mind. Some may be lying about bad things, but they may also be lying that they are nice. I just appreciate hearing the voice of the people here as well as the content. I am extremely protective over my children and my faith and I will NOT allow anyone in my home that does not respect this. The last reason for recording is because we feel that sharing this information with the public is important. Sharing our story, along with our evidence, offers comfort to families who are dealing with the same situation. We want people to understand that these spirits are not Halloween ghosts to be "hunted," but people who need help.
So here are a few clips from that recording...
After I say my prayers of protection, I often leave the house to allow the recorder to get a nice quiet house for a cleaner recording. I stepped out and was gone about 2 minutes when this clip was recorded. About two seconds in, a mam says my name and a little later you hear something fall or move and it scares my dog who then gets up from his nap and runs!
This one is not clipped for the voices but for the movement it captures! This is clipped right after the previous one. My dog has run away - far away as you can hear from the footsteps...I am still outside of the house, but yet, you can hear movement on this coffee table. Bumps & knocks right next to the recorder...
This one is a long clip but I wanted you to hear how far away the dog is. He is barking and is four rooms away - very muffled. When he is almost done, a funny knocking is heard. When he is all done and I am still outside (where there was no one knocking), it sounds like marbles moving or dice being played in the room. Then you can hear the dog come doen the hall and back into the room. Before the end of the clip, it almost sounds like a woman says, "Negro."
In this next one you can hear me running water & walking away while the guinea pigs squeak. You can also hear a woman speaking...

The next one has a voice that says something that at first made me nervous. I listened to it after the accident, and at first I thought the male voice said, "April, gonna get you.." But if you listen closer, he actually says, "April, I'm gonna get you to like me." Then I walk outside...
I skipped over about 20 EVP clips after that one. After speaking with the pastor, he suggested that I don't share any negative comments. Even if it's just a grumpy spirit, it still is not good to feed into the negativity. I agree. I will be saving those onto a disk and locking them away. Nothing too bad, but negativity I can certainly live without! I am going to share this one...I am in the shower. The dog is napping upstairs. You will here movement and knocks that cannot be explained. Then they mention my hubby, "Jon." See? It's not all about me!!

Oh & I discovered last night that when I "fell" I hit my head as well! HUGE bump and tenderness. What a horrible injury! Work tomorrow?
The day after the "fall" I recorded right where it happened. I never have conversations during an EVP; however, this time I did ask ONE question, "Did someone trip me last night?" and a female answered, "Not quite." She's right - it wasn't a trip, it was a "let's make the floor so slick April's feet fly up and she lands on her back & head" trip.

In this clip they again address the "fall." I move in the chair (the loud squeaking sound) but in the beginning a child-like voice says, "That was fun," and at the end a woman says, "Better watch your step."

There were a bunch more with this "child" voice. But, trying to remain positive, I have chosen to file the rest away. Except this one, that voice again says my name.

So, I finished listening to that recording and you know what? It creeped me out so much that I had been instructed to save all of the recordings to a disk and remove them from the computer before the cleansing. When I heard that creepy voice laughing at that ATTACK and threatening more attacks with giggles, nope, I deleted all unused and original recordings. I also did another recording on Friday, the 25th, to allow them to expend energy and to see who is sharing our home with us NOW. I deleted it before even listening. I am walking away from the blog, the spirits and EVPs for a few weeks. So feel free to visit our blog over the next few weeks, but don't panic if we don't update it for a while. I will keep you posted on Twitter and hope to return to helping the spirits in early summer.
So what happened? Twitter doesn't allow room for detail so I will tell you here. I usually get up in the night to use the bathroom (I enjoy chamomile tea before bed!). Monday night, I laid in bed like usually due - for about 20 minutes debating whether I should or should go. I don't know why I do this to myself, I should just go but this is what I do. So about 11:30, I began the debate and at 11:58, I gave up and grabbed my phone and my water and headed downstairs. I did not have any socks on - I took them off before getting into bed. I was awake! I had been awake for 20+ minutes. I walked safely down the stairs like I do every night and I reached the bottom! I. reached. the. bottom. As I stepped onto the wood floor (see above in pictures), my feet immediately began slipping. They flew out from under me, catching my left foot under the red chair in the pictures above. Six days later, I still have a painful bruise from the impact of my foot on the chair:
Here's another six day old bruise on my wrist. I didn't take any of my ribs and back, and if I did I wouldn't share them. Before we even left for the hospital, I told my husband it was paranormal. He investigated the area when we got home...not a slippery spot in sight! He realized when I yelled for him, he ran down the stairs in socks, totally asleep & not holding onto anything. Yet he didn't even slide. Not once. He was on his hands and knees but found NO EXPLINATION. He also found it odd that my water glass was sitting perfectly upright without a spill anywhere, on the top step. After a few days, I called one of the more spiritual investigators that had come to our house two years prior. She suggested a house cleansing and put me in touch with a minister. He will be doing the cleansing tomorrow and after hearing that creepy voice, I wish it was sooner! He explained that only having one bad experience after years of working with spirits does not mean something horrible - it could just be a one time thing. Much like a home break-in, they only happen once but can change everything. I felt much better and even slept upstairs after talking to him. We will need to get rid of our bats, but we are so grateful to have found this minister in such a short amount of time. I will keep you posted on how it is all going!

So, my foot caught and my body slammed back onto the stairs. My back hot two of the steps, and I learned today that my head hot a third step (My back had been dominating the pain, so I didn't notice the HUGE bump and bruise on my head). I hit so hard, I ended up with whiplash as well. I lay at the bottom of the stairs, screaming for my husband and crying in pain. I was certain I had broken my back. He tried to call the ambulance but I insisted we drive the half mile. We got there and the nurse was certain I had broken ribs because they were swollen and bruised. After x-rays I learned I had been soooooo lucky to only sustain major bruises. I had to miss six days of work, couldn't handle an hour long First Communion mass...it's been horrible.
