Follow our family's story from the purchase of our dream home in April of 2011... Our story begins with odd occurances and moves towards realization that we are not alone in our home. Our journey progresses daily towards acceptance and a desire for understanding...
Welcome to our family's paranormal journey. In order to hear the EVPs yourselves, ear buds or ear phones are recommended and turn up your volume. If you don't have ear phones or ear buds, we have posted the loudest and clearest EVPs on the right-hand side.

While napping on the couch, I felt someone grab my toe and shake me awake. It was not a muscle twitch, it was fingers grasping my toe!

On February 12, 2014, I decided to make another recording to help them to release energy in a more constructive manner.  I made the recording around 3:00 in the afternoon. I was home alone with our dog (who was flipping out when I started). I left the recorder going in the living room, while I did normal things in the kitchen and family room.  No TVs or radios were on anywhere in the house. It is still winter in Wisconsin so not only were there NO windows or doors open, no body was outside, either.  I only let it tape for a short time (about nineteen minutes).

The first five minutes were very quiet. I couldn't hear much! I was thinking that maybe I had recorded in the wrong room - maybe? Then, the voices began. And just when I was able to hear a number of EVPs, the heater started. :( BIG BUMMER. I didn't realize that the recorder was so close to the vent, but it was. The hum of the heater made hearing voices on the recording that much more difficult; although, it did bring up a great discussion point. If you have been following our blog since the beginning, you probably know all about the basement. The basement is not pretty. In fact, we had three different professionals come out before we purchased the house and not one of them had ever seen one like it. There are different levels, one about 3 feet down - one that we think might have been used to collect water long ago. The wall nearest this area is a large mound of dirt; dirt that has been covered (poorly) with plaster. It's weird. My husband has NEVER liked to go down there. He says he always has felt as if it is a "portal." I never minded going down there, so the first few years i used it to store my craft supplies. I also was dubbed the furnace filter changer by my husband. No big deal. Then one day, July 26, 2012, to be exact, I stored birthday balloons for my son down there. At three am, I opened the door to retrieve them and a BAT flew up the stairs at me! I shut the door, and we have not been down there since. People laugh at us and ask how we live in a haunted house, complete with bats! The spirits aren't nearly as scary as a bat flying at your face! So, why did I expand on this point? Well, while the heater is blowing, you can hear full conversations coming from the vent, which is connected to the basement. Maybe my husband is right and it is a portal. I could see that, but I also think that they feel it is the one place in the house they know they can have privacy. Back to the recording...

The first clip has me talking to them, instructing them. My dog was flipping out at this point. I have no explanation for the behavior, but he was jumping around and acting out of control. Be prepared, because you will hear this when you listen. At :02, a woman whispers, "Hey, Dirk." And at :06 then is an odd, low noise that also can't be explained. The clip ends with whispers of my name...
Hey, Dirk

In this next clip, the dog is outside, I am three rooms away in the kitchen. At about three seconds there seems to be a child's voice and at :05 a man whispers, "He he comes," which is ended with a whistle or a wheeze.
Here He Comes

So, the heater has turned on. You will hear the hum from it. Along with it are whispers here and there. At eleven seconds a man's voice speaks up. His voice is clear but his words are not. Glad to? Listen and let me know what you think! Oh, at at :22 there is a request for my sister, "Tigger."
Glad To?

Next one, yup, heater again... But voices & whispers. Around eleven seconds a man clearly whispers, "What gives?"
What Gives?

This one starts out with a voice right away. It sounds like, "Come on, kids. slug it out." Then about halfway into the recording, you can clearly hear a gunshot. I am one room away, and I never heard it. It is not hunting season, nor did anyone report a gunshot.
Gunshot

After that one, I caught a few EVPs possibly pertaining to this sound. Some whimpers & references to "hurt." I didn't share them as they were pretty quiet. BUT then I caught this next one...
Best one of the day. Voices all over but at nine seconds in a man with a German accent clearly (Class A) says, "Das good(t)." At sixteen seconds a different voice says, "That hurt."
Das Good

If you have problems hearing the EVPs, skip the next one. I normally file quiet ones away. For what? I don't know...but I do. This one should be filed but I can't not post a child. At two seconds in, a child softly calls out, "Thanks, Mommy." At nine seconds a different voice says, "I broke it."  Some people get freaked out by children's EVPs. Some think they are demons in disguise, others are sad for them. I don't think either of these things. The children we capture never sound like they are miserable, and they are often playing. As far as being demons, my church told me not to worry, so I don't. We just pray extra hard for them!
Child

This one shows that they are not suffering, just living in a different place. At five seconds in, one of them asks, "Did you flirt with me?" There is a response, but thanks to the dumb heater, I can't make it out.
Did You Flirt with Me?

So finally, FINALLY, the heater turns off. As it does, a voice is heard, "Watch it go..."
Watch It Go

Phew! That should keep you guys busy for a while... I am going to go and do a new recording so I have something to post again next week! Where should I record? My bedroom? The kitchen? Decisions, decisions!
