The First Month

The first month was a busy one. Although we fixed a few things before we signed, we spent the next few weeks unpacking, fixing and painting. I never got a bad vibe from the house - I loved it! My mentally stable, 39 year-old husband, on the other hand, did not like to stay alone in the house. I told him he was imaging things; but he said this was unlike any other home he had lived in. "Unsettling" was what he kept mentioning. Then I began to notice a few odd happenings...

4/20/11 I was in and out of the kitchen. On one trip into the kitchen, ALL of the cupboards were open - even on the kitchen cart that had come with us from the other house. I just said, huh, and closed them. About a half hour later - same thing. I didn't think ghosts, I thought it was probably just an uneven old house with faulty latches. I did, however, start making a few notes in my daily planner.

4/23/11 We were all sleeping in our respective bedrooms when we heard a loud CRASH in the middle of the night. All four of us (my step-daughter isn't always with us) woke up and stumbled downstairs. We couldn't find out what it was.

That was it. Nothing that screamed haunted. Just some odd things that we could (and did) brush off.
