EVP's BELOW!!!
On Monday, September 26, my husband was awakened two separate times with "shocks" going through his finger tips.
Tuesday & Wednesday were pretty quiet. I spent both days at the clerk's office trying to uncover research about our home. The historical society had told me to go to the county clerk's office to uncover possible tax information and dates for our home. The county clerk's office sent me to the CITY clerk's office where I spent the next eight hours combing through assessment books dating back to 1860. I learned that our property is located on two lots - Hibbard's Lot and Outlot 74. Using this information I was able to track owner's all the way back to 1860. That is as far as the records go, and in 1860, our home was still here. I was not able to find out about any deaths or history - just tax information. Once I finished reading all of the books, I went to the library where I am able to read papers back to 1874. However, I will need to do this on a return visit, as you cannot search by name or address - you have to sit and read each paper. I was also directed to a cemetary index and state census index which is sure to eat another 8 - 10 hours. Maybe next month...
Thursday, September 29, 2011, was another day of recording. We didn't record long, only a few minutes actually. We were in my daughter's room and we were actively asking questions. During one of them, the response is quiet - so I amplified the part for you. It is amazing, so listen close...I ask if they watch us and he responds softly after a brief pause, "Yes, I do watch you."
Yes, I do watch you
There are a few more, but they are so quiet, I am just keeping them for ourselves. I DO finally get an answer as to who one of them is. I am constantly asking about James Bemis because he owned our house the longest from the 1800's to the early 1900's. I get a faint reply to one of my inquiries about James, a quiet, "Yes, I am." FINALLY. One question answered!
Friday, September 30, 2011, I again left the digital voice recorder taping while I was home alone and the house was quiet. The first one is captured right away. You will hear setting the DVR down and then stating the date and location. I say a sentence, and right between "and...basically" I pause and you can hear the woman groan - over me. Again, I am the only one home, and there isn't a television on. After that, I keep talking and I address our "friends that live here" and the man whispers "Come on."
Groan - Come on
This EVP happened right in the middle of me looking through some papers. Listen closely - you can hear, "April."
April
The next one is VERY quiet. If you are not using earphones or are distracted, skip this one. Right in the middle of the clip the man says, "Come on, _____." I am originally thought it was Audrey, but my husband thinks it is "back" or "back here." The "come on" is quite clear.
Come On Back
